Finding creative and healthful ways to better manage stress is a life long reward of recovery from episodes of Bi-Polar Disorder.  Educating and coaching are also psychotherapeutic techniques used in my work treating individuals living with Bi-Polar Disorder.  Providing unconditional support for positive change is seamlessly woven into the work.

Clients often ask questions about psychiatric medications or other forms of treatments for their mood disorder.  With proper consents, I will collaborate with your psychiatrist or other health care provider.  If necessary, I will make recommendations for complementary therapies or facilitate referrals to additional health care providers.

Bi-Polar Disorder is a, potentially devastating but highly treatable mood disorder.  People living with this disorder typically experience periods of serious and frightening mood instability during the course of their lives.  Even when Bi-Polar Disorder is well managed, one of the challenges people experience is an underlying yet persistent feeling of uncertainty - worrying about whether a period of wellness or stability will last.  Psychotherapy helps people increasingly become self aware of symptoms, strengthening coping skills, sustain compliance with medication regimens, facilitate healthy lifestyle behaviors, and provide support and guidance for understanding how bi-polar illness impacts interpersonal relationships.  Bi-Polar Disorder, as with many psychiatric illnesses, may run in families. Family-of-origin issues are explored to better understand how childhood environments and experiences impact your life today.  An eye is always kept on the goal of discovering the path towards a brighter future.

During my 25 years of practice I have successfully helped individuals diagnosed with Bi-Polar Disorder.  Our work is centered on how to achieve, manage and maintain mood stability, naturally leading toward a path of a sustained and enhanced quality of life.  I rely on an eclectic model of
